Circle island tour

Aitutaki, Cook Islands

From the pier, your around-the-island drive will take you past several of the island's villages. You will visit a marae (sacred Polynesian temple grounds) site. Pass through plantations of various crops grown here on Aitutaki. Learn about the island's myths and legends while taking in its beautiful scenery.

Aitutaki has a unique geographical make-up – the island is a volcanic atoll with the typical volcanic peaks in the center of the island with the encircling coral reef ringed by the offshore islands (motus) and the lagoon in the center. The Circle Island Tour is a great way to see the island and meet the locals.

Visit the inland villages of Tautu Vaipae and Vaipeka, drive along the coast and see the remnants of the Copra Production Facility, and see how the people of this tiny idyllic island live. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet the locals and take photographs along the way.

Finally, you will get back to the pier.

Lagoon cruise with beach break

Aitutaki's deep blue lagoon is considered to be one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. Part volcanic and part atoll, the island's geographical structure makes this lagoon unique.

This tour will give you the opportunity to experience the best Aitutaki has to offer in the short time available during your visit.

You will board your boat (types and sizes vary) and cruise through the lagoon, visiting offshore motus. At One Foot Island, you will stop for a lunch of barbecued fish, salads, and fresh fruit.

After lunch, enjoy approximately 2 hours to relax or snorkel.

We recommend you wear your swimsuit under a cover up and reef shoes, protect yourself from the sun, and bring snorkeling equipment and a towel from the ship. This boat tour involves a wet landing. There is a cash bar on the island for those who wish to purchase beverages. Guests wishing to obtain a One Foot Island stamp should bring their passports with them. There is a fee of USD $2 for the stamp.

Snorkeling tour

Aitutaki, Cook Islands

You will board small boats each seating 10 guests and travel to Motu Maina where you can snorkel and those that wish would have the option of visiting the motu. It takes approximately 15 minutes to travel each way, as the boats are very fast.

This area has beautiful giant clams and is a marine reserve and is a nesting area of the red-tailed tropic birds.

You will return to your ship at the end of the visit.

We recommend you wear your swimsuit under a cover up, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and bring fins, snorkels, and towels from the ship. You should also wear reef shoes for swimming. This tour involves a wet landing. There are no rest room stops on this tour.

Cultural village & firewalking show

Beqa Island, Fiji

Legend has it that over 500 years ago the men of Beqa Island were given the gift of being able to walk on fire by an eel in exchange for its life. Today, the descendants of these warriors carry on the tradition, observing the same strict rules of tabu as the ancestors. Men are chosen as representatives from different villages. Ten days prior to the ceremony, they segregate themselves from females and are not allowed to eat coconut. The fire pit is dug out 12 to 15 feet in diameter and 3 to 4 feet deep. Large river stones are then collected and placed in the pit, filling it up. Six to eight hours before the ceremony a log fire is built over the top of the stones, heating them up. The Fire walkers are led to the arena accompanied by dances and chants. Leaves and vines are grazed across the stones to prepare the pit. The men then proceed to walk across the stones in a few different phases. Finally, a bundle of grass is thrown onto the pit and the group huddles in the centre while chanting a song. Bands around the ankle of each participant, which are made of tree ferns that do not burn, are thrown into the pit. The pit is finally covered with earth, and days later, the ankle bands are recovered and ground up, mixed with water, and eaten by the Fire walkers.

A tender boat will transfer you from the ship to the beach on Beqa Island. From the beach landing area, you will walk approximately 20-25 minutes to the village along an uneven, rough dirt path. Upon your arrival in the village, you will be greeted and welcomed by the fearsome Fijian warriors in traditional costumes. Villagers serenade and escort you to the village green where a traditional kava ceremony will take place. You will then be seated in a covered area to watch the ceremony and the Meke, a special dance performed by the dancers normally only for their Paramount Chief. The highlight of the village visit is the Fire walking!

After all the excitement, you will walk back to the beach for your transfer back to the ship.

It is mandatory for guests to wear long pants and long-sleeve shirts. No guest will be allowed on the tour without covered arms and legs. Not suitable for guests with mobility and walking difficulties.

Fiji's culture & heritage tour

Suva, Viti Levu, Fiji

Visit Fiji's capital city, Suva – centre of commerce and the seat of government. This guided drive tour will take you to see various iconic sites such as the President's Residence and nearby Albert Park (where Kingsford Smith landed his small aircraft on his epic flight from the United States to Australia in 1928) as well as Thurston Botanical Gardens.

During the tour you will also see The Borron House (home of Fiji's greatest statesman Ratu Sukuna and for use only by foreign dignitaries). You will also have the opportunity to visit the Fiji Museum. Bilo Battery Historical Site and World War II Heritage Site is also included in the tour on 12 April only.

During World War II, the guns at Bilopeninsula lent a degree of comfort to the people in a time of uncertainty and fears of news of the Japanese invasion flashed across the Pacific. The guns once pointed out from the side of Bilopeninsula like twin fingers of death, down to the Bay of islands in Lamiand across Suva harbour to the capital. They were placed there to guard the passage in the reef leading to Suva harbour.

Tour involves moderate walking. Recommended dress code is shorts/skirts and a Polo or T-shirts, something cool. Bring along your camera for photos and some change for a stop at the Fiji Museum handicraft shop. There is one rest room stop during the tour.

Depart from Suva port for a 20-minute drive to Pacific Harbour and arrive at the zipline. In the heart of the tropical rainforest, just minutes from Pacific Harbour, Fiji's 'Adventure Capital', lies ZIP FIJI's private eco-reserve – a biological paradise.

The guides help you use special equipment and techniques to experience this amazing wilderness from a unique perspective. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you WHOOSH over eight ziplines high above the forest floor and the Wainadoi River valley. Enjoy a classic 'canopy tour' with stunning views and thrilling rides while you experience the area's distinctive flora and fauna and local culture accompanied by English-speaking native guides.

At this end of the activity, you will get back to your coach to join your ship.

Wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty or wet and that will not interfere with the adjustment of the harness or helmet. Closed-toe sport shoes provide the best protection for your feet, however strap-on sandals are acceptable. Bring your camera, bottled water and insect repellent with you to the tour site. As it rains periodically throughout the day, you may want to bring a lightweight poncho or jacket or a change of clothing. Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Participants must be reasonably fit, weigh less than 135 kg (300 pounds), be at least 5 years of age and have a torso length of at least 45 cm (18 inches). Children under legal age (18) must be accompanied by an adult. The tour is not recommended for persons with asthma, balance problems, epilepsy, heart problems, some disabilities, back, neck or shoulder problems or those who are pregnant.

Molituva village

Molituva is an old village fort that was the dwelling place of one of Fiji’s most fiercest and feared warriors. Touring the ruins of this great fort one could envisage the lives of these greater fighters. The dug out moats still visible and to walk the maze of tracks build by the warriors is indeed an experience that is not easily forgotten.

The Molituva tour takes you back in time and you can feel the eerie feeling as if you were there in those primitive days when witnessing the strewn old pottery, stone axes and traded steel axes dated back to the 13th century. On arrival, you will be met and greeted with a serenade, then you will be informed on the village protocol that needs to be observed. Fully dressed warriors and traditionally dressed women escort you to the Village hall, where you can observe the different activities performed such as husking and scraping coconuts, weaving baskets and mats…

Observe a traditional sevusevu ceremony as well as the traditional meke and re-enactment of tribal wars by warriors as they invade the village arena. Farewell songs will escort you back to your coaches.

On your way back to the pier, enjoy a panoramic drive through town, passing by the President’s Residence, Mormon Temple and various official residences of foreign consulates.

Wear cool clothing, such as shorts/skirt and a polo or T-shirt. Bring your camera and some change for souvenirs.

Head to Uprising Beach Resort, for a day of relaxation and fun, at this truly beach front resort. A buffet Luncheon set right on the beach, serving international flavour and all time Fijian Favourites.

There are 2 full service bars, one right at the waters edge. For those looking for a bit of activity, the resort provides snorkelling safaris into Beqa Lagoon, 1/2 hour Jet Ski Hire Rentals, Massages at extra cost.

A fresh water swimming pool, or enjoy the perfect sand beach, suitable for swimming at both low and high tides.

The day begins with a free activity of Coconut Carnival (includes explanation of the Multi Use of Coconut Tree e.g. basket weaving, hat weaving, coconut husking & Fijian dish - Kokoda cooking demo), Kava tasting demo, beach volleyball, touch rugby and beach soccer and free use of kayaks. The Activities team are here to ensure you enjoy as much or as little as you please.

Colo-i-Suva trek tour & waterfall

Located 20 minutes from the city, Colo-i-Suva is a national park that boasts a crystal-clear river set in serene and peaceful surroundings amidst a spectacular rainforest making this a perfect spot for a moderate trek followed by a cool dip in the waterfall.

The weather is much cooler than Suva City with temperatures falling to as low as ten degrees at altitudes of 120-180 meters accompanied by frequent rainfalls. The air is clean and crisp with only the calls of local bird life penetrating the atmosphere.

At the end of the hike, you will get back to Savu and join your ship.

Wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, sunscreen and bottled water. At the end of the tour, optional shopping is available in Suva town before returning to the pier.

Discover the marine riches of the island on a tour dedicated to the research and observation of dolphins and sharks in Moorea. You will have an opportunity to slip into the water and swim with these graceful and curious animals and realize that man and these predators can live in harmony. Enjoy a slow-paced bicycle guided tour to Belvedere and the Pineapple Valley. Your guide will commence the tour by giving you an introductory course on how to use the simple E-bike settings. Choose the setting that fit your fitness level, from no assistance to Turbo and off you go visiting the beautiful Pineapple Island.

At every stop the guide will provide you with a multitude of details about the sites and their history. Visit Cooks and Opunohu bays, stop at the Marae (archaeological sites) and Belvedere Lookout point. Pedal through the pineapple plantations and stop for a jam tasting at the Agricultural High school. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety and simple operating instructions from your guide, then embark your wave runner and begin your ride. Led by your guide, you will cruise either along the west coast of Moorea or through the spectacular Opunohu Bay or Cook's Bay.

Along the way, a stop will be made at Motu Ono for an opportunity to feed elegant and graceful rays as they swim around you in the shallow water. Fresh fruit and beverages will then be served on the motu.

Explore the volcanic crater from which Moorea was created during this scenic, off-road island safari via off-road vehicle.

Depart the pier in an off-road vehicle for a journey inside the volcanic crater from which Moorea was created. En route, you will discover the heart of a huge pineapple plantation inside the island's deepest valley. Moorea, Polynesian's Green Garden, is renowned for its Agricultural School, which receives students from all the outer islands. A stop will be made here to sample some homemade jam. Ice cream and local fruit juices will also be available for purchase.

Your guide will then drive you across a large plantation filled with vanilla, bananas, grapefruits, and oranges, and will acquaint you with the island's diverse flora and fauna. Next, you will continue to an open-air temple, or marae.

After a stop to learn about the Polynesian culture, you will ascend to the top of Belvedere lookout for spectacular vistas over Cook's and Opunohu Bays. You will then descend that mountain and proceed to Magic Mountain, where a little path surrounded by grapefruit, lemon, and orange trees opens up to a panoramic view stretching across Opunohu Bay, the lagoon, and the sea.

Depart the pier for the boat transfer to the base. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety and riding instructions from your guide, then embark your two-seat catajet for a 1.5-hour ride in an idyllic lagoon on Moorea. Led by your guide at an easy speed, you will take in panoramic views of the East Coast and Cook and Opunohu Bays, or the West Coast (weather permitting).

Next, a stop will be made for snorkeling in the shallow waters. After putting on your mask, fins and snorkel, you will explore the beauty of the tropical fish and coral formations. Your adventure will continue with a stop on a sand bar, where you will have an opportunity to play with stingrays.

Moorea's spectacular valleys, bays, and vistas are yours to discover during this guided ATV tour through the island.

Depart the pier in Cook's Bay for the brief transfer via minivan to the Hilton Moorea Lagoon & Spa, where the ATVs are based. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety and riding instructions. Then, begin your ATV ride. Your guide will lead you along the road to Belvedere lookout for magnificent views and photo opportunities over Cook's Bay, Opunohu Bay, and Mt. Rotui.

You will also venture across the valley, through a river, and past pineapple fields, and stop at an ancient open-air temple, or marae, to learn about the Polynesian culture. Afterwards, you will continue on to the Moorea Agricultural School, then ride across this large plantation and down to the Paopao Valley.

Your tour starts with a drive from the pier to the local Airport - Temae, where your airplane is waiting. After a brief lesson on how to control the plane, your dream will finally come true: pilot your own plane. View the beautiful Cooks and Opunohu Bays, Mount Rotui and the crater area.

During your flight you might also spot dolphins, sharks and stingrays in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. Lying just 30 miles North of Moorea, Tetiaroa is the breathtakingly beautiful atoll comprised of a dozen idyllic islands surrounding a spectacular lagoon. Fly over the graceful atoll and spot The Brando, an exquisite private resort as well as the pristine natural landscape hosting many different types of birds, coral and marine life.

Finally, you will land back at Temae Airport where your transfer will return you to the pier.

The distance around this idyllic island is approximately 38 miles (62 kilometers), and your ride offers many spectacular sites and photo opportunities. You will ride past pineapple fields and visit an ancient Tahitian stone temple, or marae, en route to Belvedere.

At the summit, take in magnificent views of Cook's Bay, Opunohu Bay, and Mt. Rotui. Your ride continues on through the village of Papetoai and past the nearby tombs of the first missionaries. Your coach will return to the pier via the other side of the island. Dolphin watching expedition

Depart the pier aboard a covered boat for the scenic ride to Moorea's reef. Spinner dolphins and rough-tooth dolphins can be seen around Moorea, with spinner dolphins regularly swimming inside the lagoon. Most often you will see schools of acrobatic spinner dolphins, while listening to informative commentary about their remarkable life and society at sea. Dolphins are found on 95% of the tours, but the engaging narrative and sheer magnificence of Moorea's coastline will ensure a rewarding time in any event.

Next, you will continue on to a gorgeous sandy islet surrounded by transparent turquoise waters that are shallow enough to walk comfortably in the sea. Aquablue – Underwater walk

Explore Moorea's splendid marine life in a unique new way during this underwater walking and snorkeling adventure.

Depart the pier for the drive to the Intercontinental Moorea Resort & Spa. Upon arrival, you will meet your instructor, then be outfitted with your wet suit and water shoes before embarking on a 10-minute boat ride inside the majestic lagoon of Moorea. The crew will anchor the boat off the coast of Motu Fareone or inside the lagoon in Papetoai (depending on sea and weather conditions). Your certified diving instructor will explain your safety and diving instructions, help you put on your helmet, and assist you with descending the ladder into the crystal-clear water.

You will then commence your 30-minute underwater adventure at a depth of 12 feet. Upon arrival, you will disembark the boat for a guided walk across an uninhabited islet, or motu, located just off the coast. After reaching the other side of the motu, you will commence your snorkeling session. Your guide will lead you as the current carries you through the shallow lagoon on the way back to the boat. The drift can be moderate to strenuous depending on the strength of the current. The drift is done in a single line with one snorkeling guide leading the 12 snorkeller spaced 10 feet apart and one snorkelling guide closing up on the group. This area abounds with a spectacular variety of tropical fish and amazing coral.

Upon returning to the boat, refreshments and additional snorkelling time will be made available before you are transferred back to Motu Mahana.

Depart the pier aboard a Le truck. First, you will drive through the district of Fa'anui. Depart the pier in Vaitape (or Anau) aboard an outrigger canoe for a scenic ride in the Bora Bora lagoon (weather permitting). You will then continue to the Lagoonarium, with its white sandy beach and open-air aquarium. From the beach you will have a magnificent view of the island of Bora Bora. Upon arrival, enjoy an opportunity to swim in separate enclosed areas. During your visit, you will also participate in up-close encounters with marine life, including sharks, rays, jack fish, turtles, parrot fish, and more. Snorkeling begins from the beach in shallow water ranging in depth from 3-10 feet and is suitable for beginners and experienced snorkelers. Swallow cave & island getaway

Vava'u's big island is set in a cluster of nearly 40 smaller islands. The only harbour providing access to Neiafu is considered one of the most picturesque in the Pacific.

Your tour will consist of a boat cruise that winds through the harbour to the island of Kapa. The main attraction of Kapa Island is beautiful Swallow's Cave which perforates a cliff at its northern end. The cave is in fact inhabited not by swallows but by hundreds of swift lets that flit about in the dim light and nest in the darkness of the cave's upper reaches. You can only view the swallow cave from outside from your boat unless weather permits you to swim into the cave.

Your day begins with a 40-to-50-minute drive along the cross island road to Nakawaqa Rainforest located on the northeastern part of Savusavu town.

The Waisali Reserve is one of the few remaining unexploited forests in Fiji and is the natural habitat for the native Fijian hardwood – some of the trees being over 100 years old. On the two-hour forest trail engulfed by majestic trees you may be fortunate to see or hear the red breasted musk parrot or the beautiful orange dove – both endemic and rare bird species.

The quiet serene is disturbed only by the occasional sound of the barking pigeon and moving stream water. Snorkelling tour

At the edge of the reef which runs out from Savusavu Bay is a Lighthouse, which gives its name to the famed snorkelling site.

Board either the "Island Fever" or the "Island Paradise" and take an enjoyable fast and scenic ride along the inside of the Bay to snorkel amongst beautiful coral and tropical fish in crystal-clear turquoise waters. Savusavu is home to some of the most vibrant and colourful coral in Fiji. There are numerous plate corals, soft spaghetti corals and fish, fish, fish…. myriads of black and white sergeant fish as well as clown fish, orange and purple anthias, trumpet fish, pale green damsel fish, humpbacked wrasse and Maori wrasse. The scene takes on the appearance of a tropical aquarium as abundant small fish dart in and out of the striking coral. Giant clams, grouper and parrotfish are also commonly seen in and around the coral formations. Sea turtles frequent the Lighthouse so it is always a treat to see one or two. Occasionally a friendly white-tip reef shark will be seen.
